Spotted: Preppy Chic Style

When we think about preppy style, a certain dullness and boredom usually comes to our mind. It's been so mainstream throughout the history that it really doesn't rime with "in fashion". I personally love simple, classic, neat looks. Show me an outfit that I will be able to wear year after year and I'm sold. However, if anything that reminds you of your mother and grandmother makes you run as fast as you can from it, you probably didn't give the preppy look much consideration. Think again! There are ways to make a preppy chic style as fun and sexy as you are. Without changing your usual style, add preppy elements to your outfit. For example, tie a bright colored cardigan over a simple jeans and t-shirt combo, go for nautical stripes with rocker/tough chick accessories, etc. Get inspired by Blair from Gossip Girl and other celebs.

Dress Like Them: Beige

Beige is far from boring in this outfit that Jennifer Lopez chose to show her gorgeous self. Paired with grey sequins it brightens her complexion and is unexpectedly sexy. Why not go for a similar look next time you want to go for this hue.

Eye Eye Eye

I find that sunglasses can be such a chic accessory. Aside from preventing the bright sunlight and premature wrinkles around the eyes, it can serve as a fashion statement that will make you feel like a celebrity trying to escape those paparazzi. I personally prefer investing in a designer pair of frames than a cheaper alternative. Since I wear them quite often I think that it's worth spending a little more. Even though it makes me extra careful to not break or lose them, the glamorous feeling I have while wearing my Dior or Michael Kors is definitely too cool to switch on a no name brand. But hey, that's just me and my personal preference.

From aviators, to oversized ones without forgetting the wayfarers, there is a shape, style, color and brand for every personality.
RayBan - 205$
Stella McCartney - 225$
RayBan - 190$
Prada - 287$

Things I Love: Parkas

One of my favorite types of jackets are parkas. If it is a green color and army style, I'm in love, it's official! It is a trendy piece that is extremely practical when you live in a place where the winter is not just a word in a dictionary. The cool thing about them is that they don't go out of style. Even if there won't be a sea of people wearing them, they will always be around, like the sea and the sky. In fact, the first one was born in the Arctic region to Caribou Inuits very many years ago, and it's popularity grew so much, it became a key piece in the modern wardrobe.

So if you're like me, and you love to get items that you can wear for several years, instead of getting rid of them before you even had a chance to put a stain on it, you should absolutely get one. Except if you live in the South Pole. In that case, your birthday suit will probably be the best choice of outfit for most days.

Here are some great finds.
